AI literacy is becoming a life skill. Here is where to start
The ILO’s August 2026 report puts AI literacy alongside adaptability and human agency. For an individual, the useful question is which part of a real task a tool can help with—not which tool has the loudest launch.
Map one recurring task before opening a tool
Write down its inputs, decisions and final checks. Separate confidential information from material you can safely use in an experiment.
Compare assistance with your own baseline
Try a public or invented example, then inspect every factual assertion and calculation. Include correction time when deciding whether the tool helped.
Keep responsibility for the result
Save a short checklist of mistakes you found. Ask your employer which tools and data are approved before using the workflow at work.
