An AI exposure score is not a prediction of your future
An April 2026 ILO brief cautions against reading AI exposure measures as forecasts of job losses. That distinction matters when a dramatic headline makes your entire career feel suddenly uncertain.
Read the unit being measured
Check whether the number concerns tasks, occupations, workers or actual layoffs. These are different things and cannot be exchanged without evidence.
Look at the work around the task
A job can include negotiation, accountability and physical coordination alongside text production. List those responsibilities before drawing conclusions.
Make a proportionate plan
Choose one transferable skill and one conversation with a manager or peer. Avoid paying for an expensive course solely because a headline created urgency.
